* The Word of Life Church requires a referral letter for a food parcel. This can be provided by a support worker or at Citizens Advice drop- in sessions Monday to Friday 10am to 12 noon.

The Bread & Butter Thing


Food from high street supermarkets is given to Community Hubs in the town where it is packed and collected by members from the hubs.


Typical value is £35 but members pay £8.50 for 3 bags – fruit/veg, fridge items and cupboard items.

If you are receiving any Means-Tested Benefits (Universal Credit, Income-Based JSA. Income-Related ESA, Tax Credits, Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support) or you are an Employee or Pension Recipient of the NHS, Care & Private Healthcare, Police, Fire Service, Prison Services, British Armed Forces, Registered Charities (volunteers included), Support Services or FMCG Manufacturing and Logistics you may be entitled membership of The Company Shop.  Membership is free.

Members can shop in store multiple times per week, helping you save on your shopping budget. 


To become a member visit and let the team know it’s your first time. Annual membership fee is £5. This allows you to purchase multiple items at a discounted rate ranging from 12 items for £5 up to 30 items for £12.50.
